(without the orange filter there was total white-out and no picture)

The summit of Arenig Fawr, 854m/2801ft.

The plaque commemorates the crew of a crashed WWII bomber, the wreckage of which littered the summit.

Enlargement of 1/16th of the frame area. Equivalent to a 28" sq enlargement from whole neg.

Snowdonia  ~  the Moelwyns (the distant peaks with snow)

(still trying to figure out precisely where from - probably from the northern end of the Rhinogs)

Snowdonia  (not the Alps!)  ~  Tryfan (917m/3009ft) with Glyder Fach (994m/3261ft) beyond

seen from Cwm Lloer (670m/2200ft ) to the north with the flanks of Pen yr Ole Wen at right.

taken using a Fuji 0.55x conversion lens for an 8mm movie camera held in front of the lens to give this 'fish-eye' effect

edge definition non-existent, but the effect is stunning!

Snowdonia  ~  sunset at our overnight camp by Llyn Bodlyn en route to the Rhinogs.

An example of Photoshop's digital techniques applied to a scanned transparency:

Llyn Bodlyn sunset - original scan

Llyn Bodlyn sunset - lift the foreground using curves

Llyn Bodlyn sunset - paint in original sky using the history brush

Llyn Bodlyn sunset - final photograph
original scan lift foreground with 'Curves' paint in sky using History Brush' final photograph

early morning on the Llyn Bodlyn campsite

exact location unknown ~ somewhere in the Rhinog mountains

the pattern of dry-stone walls leads the eye into the misty distance
