Sunday 15th ~ my first ascent ~ Hallin Fell above Ullswater (1273ft ~ 518ft of ascent).

Ullswater and Dunmallard Hill with Penrith in the distance and the Pennines beyond

2nd top of the day ~ Little Mell Fell (1657ft):

Only 410ft of ascent. Easy-peasy!

Descent ~ stopped here on command!

Almost at the bottom.

And then we did a 3rd one! (Great Mell Fell (1762ft ~ 912ft of ascent) - sorry, no pictures)

 .......... now zonked out for the evening!

Monday 16th:

Blencathra (2848 ft)

above Mousthwaite Comb en route for Scales Tarn

Spot the Dog heading for Sharp Edge.

Oh my ..... ! We're not going up there are we?

 Sharp Edge. Okay, so we came up the slopes below, not like those mad people, along the edge!

(Note that I'm in my climbing harness and roped on! This is serious stuff for a mountain debutante like me!)

Wednesday 18th ~ on Carrock Fell summit (2174ft).  View south up the River Caldew to distant Skiddaw.

This is an example of dog shake.  I'm rather blurry because I'm blowing in the wind!

And here, met after our descent from Carrock Fell ........

 'Jack' of Townend Farm, north of Mungrisdale. Riding to his work as all good sheepdogs do these days.
