above Mousthwaite Comb en route for Scales Tarn
|
(Ominously the boss is being traditional today and is wearing tweed breeches with red socks - presumably so that we can be easily found by a mountain rescue team!) |
![]() |
Spot the Dog heading for Sharp Edge.
![]() |
Oh my ..... ! We're not going up there are we?
![]() |
Sharp Edge. Okay, so we came up the slopes below, not like those mad people, along the edge!
(Note that I'm in my climbing harness and roped on! This is serious stuff for a mountain debutante like me!)
![]() |
You're not planning on doing this every day, are you?
![]() |
Look who we met at the top!
![]() |
My goodness ....... buzzed by a hedicotter. It's just like home!
(view NNE to Scotland)
![]() |
on Halls Fell Top (Blencathra's summit)
There must be something interesting down there ........

Gategill Fell, Derwent Water and the North Western fells from Hallsfell top.

Wednesday 18th ~ on Carrock Fell summit (2174ft). View south up the River Caldew to distant Skiddaw.
This is an example of dog shake. I'm rather blurry because I'm blowing in the wind!
And here, met after our descent from Carrock Fell ........
![]() |
'Jack' of Townend Farm, north of Mungrisdale. Riding to his work as all good sheepdogs do these days.
(Looks like fun! Can we have one of those?)

What do you mean 'we were on top of the pointy bit'. That's impossible. It's much too small!
![]() |
view South from High Rigg over Thirlmere to distant Steel Fell ~ Helvellyn (l), Castle Crag (r)
![]() |
